Born and raised in central Portugal, in the small city of Figueira da Foz, also known as the “fisherman’s village,” Bruno Carvalho was exposed to rich and natural ingredients readily available in his hometown. The direct access and availability to wholesome products triggered his love for food at an early age and later developed his dedication for cooking through experimenting with different flavors and ingredients.
With a solid educational background in the food and beverage industry, combined with an impressive track record working in some of the finest kitchens around the world, from Portugal, Brussels and New York, in various Michelin restaurants and five-star hotels, Bruno arrived in Dubai in 2012 where he joined the prestigious Armani Hotel as Chef the Cuisine.
In 2014, was the Executive Chef of GQ Bar and Vogue Cafe in Dubai. The restaurant and lounge which created an impressive buzz in the city, and was listed as one of the Top 7 New Restaurants in Dubai by Gourmet Food Magazine, during that year.
One year later, opened La Cantine du Faubourg, considered the best restaurant opening in Dubai.
2016 brought another change, this time Chef Bruno Carvalho travelled to Seychelles and worked has Executive Chef for Guta Group - owners of Savoy and Coral Strand in Mahe.
Now back in Portugal, Bruno runs the kitchen of Criatura Restaurant.
